GP Sports knuckles fitted today!

Got the following goodies fitted today. A few weeks ago my friend Masao welded up the Yanack lower-arm kit for me, then some D-max goodies arrived in the post. Fitted it all today, and setup the suspension with some settings recommended by Mr Bon Bon Most Honourable Sir…I’ve got man-flu today though so I can’t go and test it tonight. There’s a big meeting at the local touge which I wanted to go and test it on, but too bad. A night on the computer for me! Zannen!

Oh, and we may have added another spline onto the rack too! Air grinders are awesome!

End result!

Green machines arrive in Finland

“Yokatta!” - Japanese for ‘good feeling’

Two of the green machines that I recently sold to Kimmo (my agent in Finland) arrived safe and sound and the new owners are over the moon. Being an extremely rare car, the JZX100 and the S14.5 were immediately wanted for a photoshoot, so Kimmo took them to Helsinki airport to have some expert photos taken. Looking good!

Photos are Copyrighted and are here courtesy of the photographer “Exorcist”.

Message from god? Hakosuka GT-R

Everyday this week I`ve seen various Hakosuka GT-Rs driving through my neighbourhood. This is a pretty rare occurance…I`ve probably only seen 10 of them in the whole time I`ve been in Japan but this week Ive seen heaps of them! Anyway, today I was woken up by one idling outside my house. So I woke up early and went out for a walk. Then I saw another one parked outside a house.

Decided to go for a coffee to shake off this feeling that GT-Rs are stalking me. Thought I`d try that “WING” cafe in the next neighbourhood. WTF

I knew it was owned by a petrol head as they`res usually a Ferrari in there. But not today….Oh no! Better get saving haha

Charles Ng from HK/USA came to visit

My customer and friend Charles Ng, came to Nagoya for a few weeks to visit his family and wanted to drift at YZ, so I loaned him the “Doricar Rental”, our S14 Silvia that is available to rent at various circuits in the Aichi/Gifu areas of Japan (Suzuka, YZ, Mikawa etc). I organised the tyres then met Charles at his local train station. We then drove together to YZ. Charles is a professional driver originally from Hong Kong but now living in L.A.  See his website for more information: http://www.charlesngracing.com/ After a few warm up laps he started drifting like a champ and impressed both myself and the circuit owner. The car came back in one piece so I was happy, and Charles had a ball too.

If anyone is interested in drifting in Japan through Doricar please contact me for more information.

Here’s the photos to tell the story:
“Ok Charles, here’s my car keys….I’m going to hide over there. I don’t wanna watch”

“Now, you’re gonna drive sensibly right?”

“Thaaaatttsss it! Nice and sensible…well done sir”

“What the hell…ooooh I can’t watch”

“Good work sir. I like your style. Lots of awesome drifting and no damage in sight!”

“Now time for passenger rides while I change the tyres on the Silvia”

Otsukaresamadeshita! I hope you enjoyed your day Charles. See you again soon!!!

Oh my god…Yahoo auctions is a nightmare

I have been trying to setup my Yahoo Auctions Japan account for months and months now. Finally I found out that someone from Yahoo had to come to my house to verify my ID and address. They came tonight and everything was ok. They left me with a code that I had to verify my account with. Once that was done I had permission to sell as well as buy. So I put up some drift videos that I don’ want anymore, but more-so just to test how it works. It took 30minutes…Oh my god. Everything in Japan is hardwork. TAIHEN YO!!!

Long, long day at Garage Cronos

Today myself and Adam went to Garage Cronos to swap the non-turbo engine out of my Silvia and replace it with a 180SX engine. We started at 10am and had got this far by 12.30pm.

Then Adam inspected the new engine and found some cracks in the stainless manifold and outlet pipe

Then Kurimoto San welded up the cracks for us

By 7PM it was pretty much done….so we celebrated with a “few” beers and then went to “Champion San’s” gyoza bar and ate the most rediculously spicy Gyoza the world has even known. While writing this I have really bad stomach pains…It was really delicious…but deadly! Not bad for a day’s work

Many hour and many bottle later we were VERY drunk and the journey home was a little worrying! Hehe. Anyway, the test date for the new engine is next Sunday so we have to hurry up and finish the wiring loom.
